Founding Vision and Early Achievements
Dr. Kamal R. Jani (M.D., D.G.O.) began his distinguished medical practice in 1981 at Calico Dome, Relief Road, Ahmedabad. The following year, he established Jani Women’s Hospital in the heart of Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, with a vision to offer state-of-the-art healthcare facilities for women. His dedication to advancing medical practice led to several pioneering achievements:
1988 : He opened a second facility at Agrawal Chambers, near Town Hall, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad, focusing on minor operative procedures and ultrasonography.

1992 : Dr. Jani introduced transvaginal sonography (TVS) in Gujarat, providing more detailed imaging of the female reproductive system.
1992 : He was among the first in Ahmedabad to adopt laparoscopy, enhancing minimally invasive surgical options for patients.
1995 : Dr. Jani pioneered the concept of video laparoscopy in Ahmedabad, setting a new standard for precision and patient safety.
1988 : He became one of the few trained gynecologist microsurgeons in Gujarat, having received training from AIIMS, Delhi.
2002 : Dr. Jani began his association with Ahmedabad’s first two corporate hospitals, SAL Hospital and Sterling Hospital, contributing to high-risk case management and advanced care.

Dr. Shashwat K. Jani (M.S. Gynecology)
In 2011, Dr. Shashwat K. Jani, Dr. Kamal R. Jani’s son, joined the practice. After gaining experience at L.G. Municipal Hospital, Maninagar, Ahmedabad, and earning a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopy from France in 2012, Dr. Shashwat has become a Master Trainer for the West Zone in FOGSI (Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India) and John Hopkins University’s Helping Mothers Survive Project. He currently serves as a Consultant Assistant Professor at Sheth V.S. Municipal Hospital, Ahmedabad.
Dr. Rajita Shashwat Jani (M.S. Gynecology)
Dr. Rajita Shashwat Jani joined Jani Women’s Hospital in 2012. With a background as a Consultant at L.G. Municipal Hospital, Maninagar, Ahmedabad, and a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopy from France, she brings expertise and dedication to her role. Dr. Rajita continues to contribute to the hospital’s success, providing exceptional care and advancing women’s health services.
